SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for maintaining general ledger and month-end close procedures. You will also have primary responsibility for the monthly customer billing process and various assigned account analyses. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing accountants and junior accountants.


LOCATION:

This role can work remotely in the US. WizeHive does not provide visa sponsorship at this time.


WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE:

  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivables including assessment of reserve
  • Compile and present reports on key performance indicators
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Develop, educate, and manage compliance with procedures throughout the Organization
  • Own our global billing processes including timely and accurate customer invoicing, management of deferred revenue and related accounts
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Participate in annual budget process
  • Assist with sales and use tax compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
    • Journal entry creation
    • Intercompany accounting
    • Monthly accruals
    • Maintenance of pre-paid expenses
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Bonus accrual
    • Commission plan accounting
    • Revenue recognition
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Own weekly cash flow forecasting
  • Manage revenue cycle items including deferred revenue and related analysis and metrics
  • Provide input into the department's goal-setting process
  • Other responsibilities as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Accountant
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks and NetSuite
  • Familiarity with subscription or other recurring revenue models
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high performing, team-oriented environment

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Prior experience in growing SaaS company
  • Prior experience as team lead or supervisor
  • Experience with SaaSOptics is a plus
  • Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus

SALARY RANGE:

$75,000-100,000 USD
