This is a hybrid position, that does require in-person appearances at mediation, meetings, and court appearances in these New York State Counties: Clinton, Essex, and Warren. Outside of those responsibilities, daily work location is flexible.

• Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses
• Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
• Keep apprised of changes to local, state, and federal statutes and laws
• Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
• Prepare for and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration hearings

As our Firm’s Senior Associate, you will exercise independence in devising legal strategies, providing excellent legal representation to our clients, and serve as a leader to our team. To be a key player on our team, you must be dedicated to excellence and hard work, and experience with a top-tier practice in Family Law and Litigation matters.

In this role, you will assume full responsibility for the Firm’s legal production pipeline—from Legal Strategy Sessions to delivery of work to the client. You will also oversee and manage the legal team and support staff and ensure all legal work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.

• Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with time management and interpersonal skills
• Four-year bachelor’s degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school
• Able to work independently while handling multiple files
• Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations

Additional job requirements are:

• 
  You must have courtroom litigation experience with a track record of success
• You must be available for in-person appearances at mediations, meetings, and court proceedings in these New York Counties: Clinton, Essex, and Warren. Outside of those responsibilities, daily work location is flexible.
• You are a thorough and precise researcher, writer, and speaker
• Your great technical acumen is matched by your patience, compassion, and attention to our clients and the successful resolution of their legal matters
• You are confident, flexible, growth-minded, and comfortable in a management role
• You have or are willing to take the following advanced training: Certified Divorce Specialist™ training, 30 hours of basic Mediation training, and 15 hours of Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce training
• You are licensed in New York and have a clean professional discipline record

You must be good with basic legal technology; specifically, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw, Ooma, Google Workspace Suite, and Dropbox. Familiarity with Clio Grow, Clio Manage, and Family Law Software is a plus.
