Sustainment & Restoration Services (SRS) is an 8(a) firm that provides engineering, science, construction, munitions, and specialized professional services solutions for customers nationwide.

SRS has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager / Senior Geologist or Engineer. This position is will support investigation and remediation projects nationwide and could be located in one of our West Coast offices (Ventura, Santa Barbara, or Walnut Creek) or be remote with periodic travel to support project needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of large-scale CERCLA investigation projects (PA/SI, RI, etc) for Federal clients to ensure that they are performed with a high level of quality and safety while on time and within scope and budget.
  • Manage basewide remediation contracts with site actions in varying stages of CERCLA/RCRA process to include sampling, remediation, document preparation, five-year reviews, etc.
  • Design and management of treatability studies and/or technology evaluation (IRA, EE/CA, RD, etc.)
  • Supervision of support personnel and assistance in staff development/mentoring in technical areas.
  • Client management, including managing client expectations and maintaining routine communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Experience in successful leadership of diverse field teams.
  • Demonstrated professional judgement, consistency and attention to detail with track record of high quality work products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of previous experience in planning and/or executing environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, hydrogeology, geology or related field
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to nationwide project sites, as needed.
  • Experience in reviewing and editing technical writing and regulatory reports.
  • Experience managing and evaluating large datasets to develop conceptual site models (CSMs).
  • Experience executing work within state and federal regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and executing environmental investigation and remediation services for Federal projects (5 years or more).
  • Previous involvement in preparing or contributing to project proposals and managing project budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) and Professional Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG) certification or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed.
  • Experience and familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, SDWA and various DoD branch (i.e., USACE, Navy, U.S. Air Force) regulations and reporting requirements a plus.
  • Experience with investigation and remediation of media with PFAS impacts.
