Inviting you to our team:
The Tender & Project Purchasing department is a diverse and multicultural team with team members in Norway, UK and USA. The department is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the tenders and projects. The department is split into two teams – US and EMIA (Europe, Middle East, India & Asia). We are now looking for an experienced Tender & Project Purchasing Manager to lead our US based team.
  • Workplace is our new modern office in New York, New York, but may also be based out of Charleston, South Carolina.
  • The Purchasing Team Lead is responsible for managing the team of Tender & Project Purchasing Managers including development of team, allocating purchasing resources to SLS projects and tenders and tasks across projects and ensure high quality and efficient execution
We need bright minds to:
  • Be a mentor to and develop the competence of your team of project and tender purchasing managers
  • Contribute and ensure that the Marine Operations Subcontracting Category Strategy is executed within your area and across both Hubs (US & EMIA)
  • Participate to Purchasing activities to dedicated project(s) and tender(s) on large subcontracts
  • For Projects: make sure your team manages the entire purchasing process (preparation of inquiries, evaluation of offers, contract negotiations, contract award, follow-up of contract and deliveries, invoicing as well as Supplier Relationship Management) according to Nexans Purchasing (including Best Practices) and Project Model
  • For Tenders: make sure your team establishes a tender costing strategy and deliver on it
  • Responsible for the delivery according to the KPIs of the team
  • Promote good collaboration within the team and across the entire purchasing, tender and project organizations
Your starting point when joining Nexans:
Professional skills, qualifications, and experience:
  • Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain or extensive experience from project purchasing
  • Fluent in English – oral and written
Personal characteristics:
  • Must have US work authorization

  • Possess the following qualities: High working capacity and ability to multitask, Well-structured and executing tasks in an orderly and systematic manner, Good communication and co-operation skills
