The Polaris Community is seeking a few part-time Dining Services Assistants to join our team! This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the service and clean-up for meals served to residents and staff in the community and other special events. No early mornings or late evenings! Great for a summer job, retirement gig, or a simple, safe, and air-conditioned first job!

Hours Needed:

• 2:30p-7:30p (part-time, some weekend coverage per month)

Essential Functions Include

• Assists Cook as needed
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator
• Executes the sanitation process by the following: Washes tables and chairs in the dining room; Sweeps and mops the dining room floor as assigned; Takes trash to the dumpster; Washes dishes and silverware according to dish washing procedures; Puts clean dishes and silverware away; Assists with cleaning of equipment and kitchen as assigned; Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work areas
• Assists with meal service duties through the following: May set dining room tables for meals; may work on meal tray serving line; Clears tables of dishes and trash; Communicates with residents during meal times to enhance homelike dining experience; Assists with clean-up after each meal and preparation for next meal

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred, but not required
• Experience preferred in server setting
