Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

Reports To: General Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives orders from sales department; ensures filled orders are properly loaded onto the truck; maintains cooler and dry storage areas; records temperature of trailers and cleans trailers when necessary; inspects all incoming products; responsible for maintaining records of the trailers, forklifts, and pallet jacks; inventories eggs and dry products as required; insures that all safety and food safety programs are being followed, and other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises shipping and receiving employees. The employee will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. This will also include the following: interviewing and training employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university or three to five years experience and/or training is required for this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The employee must also have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY
The employee must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The employee must also have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A forklift certificate is required for this position.

The employee will occasionally have to move and/or lift more than 100 pounds. There are no special vision requirements for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to working in high, precarious places. The employee will regularly be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts. The employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; vibration and toxic or caustic chemicals. The work environment is usually moderate to loud.

EQUIPMENT
Equipment used in this position includes forklift, pallet jack, trucks/trailers, and other equipment as required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
