Essential Duties
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
- Investigates accepted child protective services reports
- Assesses risk of harm to children and determines if children are abused, neglected or dependent.
- Petitions the court for removal of children from the home if at risk of harm and provides information to the court on the circumstances of the child.
- Provides services to children found to be abused, neglected or dependent.
- Works with parents and community organizations to provide for the provision of services to reduce the risk of harm to children.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); OR a MSW from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience; OR a BSW from an accredited school of social work with a Child Welfare Collaborative (CPS positions only) and 1 year of directly related experience; OR a BSW and two years of experience in the area of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy or treatment planning; OR a Master’s degree in counseling in a human services field and 2 years of directly related experience; or a four year degree in a human service field with at least 25 semester hours of approved coursework and 3 years of experience in a related area; OR a four year degree and 4 years of related experience.
- A copy of a transcript must be included with the application.
- The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,375.00 - $79,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
