JOB TITLE: Software Engineer II/III (Lead)

Carley is seeking to hire a thorough Software Engineer Lead that will be responsible for all software development within the program. Leads and directs a team of Software Engineers, Graphic Designers, Technical Writers, and Training Specialists in the design and development of complex training system simulations. Works within industry best-practices and software development lifecycle processes to perform software requirements analysis, software design, code, unit test, integration and testing to satisfy program requirements.
DAILY AND WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provides technical direction to the program software development teams.
- Makes decisions on software tools, environment, and architecture that ensures compliance with user and customer needs and requirements.
- Leads and controls software development events to include daily scrums, working group meetings, requirements analysis, test events, and V&V events.
- Defines and executes software preliminary design to include development of the system and software architecture.
- Manages the sprint process for agile software development.
- Writes product requirement documents to include RTMs, SDPs, CMPs, SRSs, Test Plans, and any other customary DoD CDRL requirements documents for software development.
- Implements, tracks, and ensures adherence to software development timelines.
- Provides technical support, training, and mentoring to project team members.
- Manages program related software development efforts including adherence to budgets (in hours)
- Other duties and projects as assigned and needed
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer or Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Systems Engineering- required. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree, if applicable and or allowed under assigned contract.
- Prior simulation experience, required.
- Lead experience, required.
- Experience with commercial game engines such as Unreal, Unity, and CryENGINE, required.
- C# experience, required.
- 10 years full-time professional experience in one or more of the following:
- Computer or Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Computer Science
- Information Systems Management
- Systems Engineering
- Security Clearance preferred
- Due to the nature of the work at Carley, this position requires U.S. citizenship
