KRGV-TV located in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas has the following opening:
Guest Coordinator for our Spanish newscasts on Noticias RGV 5.2

KRGV Channel 5 News and KRGV 5.2 Noticias RGV is looking for a bilingual Guest Coordinator to schedule and assist in scheduling guests for various news programs throughout the day on our Spanish language digital channel 5.2 Noticias RGV. We are the largest news operation in South Texas. Our newscast produces 67 hours of news every week in both English and Spanish.

The McAllen-Brownsville area is the 11th largest Hispanic market in the country.

As Guest Coordinator, you will work as part of our Spanish news team for Noticias RGV including our morning show Buenos Dias Valle and noon show Al Mediodia Valle. As a Guest Coordinator, you will be responsible for bookings guests, as well as supporting other show producers and anchors with guests for the news shows. The Guest Coordinator will serve as primary contact to secure guests for Noticias RGV and the morning and noon shows. The position is a fast-paced job and an eagerness to find the most compelling guests to inform our Spanish-speaking audience in the Rio Grande Valley every day.

This is a Full Time position

Responsibilities

  • Will assist in contacting guests for show producers and anchors
  • Must be bilingual and understand topics that will benefit the morning and noon audience.
  • Expected to both pitch story and segment ideas and book guests for those segments including
pre-interviews and schedule on the show calendar.
  • Responsible for compiling and maintaining the guest calendar and sending out a daily
booking note to producers and anchors, which details all booking efforts and secured guests.
