Job Summary: To provide skilled speech therapy to DotCom Therapy clients using a secure web-based platform. Skilled speech therapy is not limited to evaluations, treatment, consultations, screenings, and documentation of services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize a web-based platform for delivery of services.
- Provide evidence-based evaluations for students age 3-21 while following necessary evaluation protocol. Interpret results and prepare professional written evaluation report that follows DCT recommended guidelines.
- Provide speech/language screenings and/or consultations when necessary.
- Confidently administer assessments for cognitive-communication disorders and interpret the results using a web-based platform.
- Confidently and effectively identify the presence and/or the risk of a communication and/or swallowing disorder.
- Confidently select individualized and evidence-based approaches to intervention.
- Develop evidence-based plans in line with the American Speech and Language Association (ASHA) Code of Ethics.
- Design innovative and engaging materials, prepare IEPs as needed on a timely basis, document goals, and modify goals based on student needs and performance.
- Perform advanced session planning upon request of school district.
- Provide skilled speech therapy treatment for students, both individually and in group settings, using evidence-based approaches. Complete session SOAP notes within 24 hours of treatment.
- Maintain the flexibly to adapt/modify the treatment plan, intervention being utilized, and other professional areas in order to best provide an individualized therapy approach.
- Proficiently and professionally document services rendered.
- Confidently and accurately utilize data collection methods and tools for analysis of client performance.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team of professionals to develop student goals for improved educational success and maintain comprehensive documentation of services.
- Participate in IEP meetings, review existing data, and form team meetings.
- Communicate with families regarding services.
- Serve as a case manager or process coordinator, and ensure appropriate delivery of the treatment plan, when applicable.
- Discharge when appropriate.
- Confidently and professionally counsel individuals and groups regarding cognitive-communication disorders and the educational impact and/or impact on quality of life.
- Prepare professional quarterly progress report for schools.
- Conduct school-based facilitator/speech aide training.
- Understand and follow the ASHA's Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice.
- Understand and follow the scope of practice and regulations of the state(s) in which licensed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations, including The Privacy Rule and The Security Rule.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy safeguards related specifically to speech therapy and teletherapy.
- Adhere to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Adhere to DCT Standards of Practice Manual.
- Maintain up-to-date schedule in Google Calendar. Maintain an organized and consistent schedule. Collaborate with teachers/staff regarding best times to schedule evaluations, screenings, and treatment.
- Blog, hashtag, and post on media outlets regarding professional experiences and background as desired.
- Utilize Slack for collaboration and team building when desired.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Technology: Experience and comfort with use of various types of technology.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant (90-100%): vision, hearing, talking
- Frequent (60-90%): hand movement, repetitive motions, finger dexterity, reading, writing, preparing/analyzing figures, sitting
Required
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Currently possess SLP board license in state of residence
- CCCs: Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency
- Pediatric Populations: At least 1 year of experience
- Documentation of School-Based Services, Including IEPs: At least 1 year of experience
- Continuing Education: Complete continuing education to maintain CCCs and licensure.
Strongly Preferred Qualities
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with computer technology
- More than 20 hours availability in a week
- Experience with pediatric patients
Compensation: $35-48 per hour based on experience.
