DroneUp is seeking a Sr. Computer System Analyst (CSA) to work across departments to identify problems and provide solutions that help the organization achieve its goals while concentrating on helping it operate more efficiently. The CSA will function as a bridge between departments to help IT members understand business objectives and help functional resources understand technological solutions (tech-translator). The ideal candidate will research the hardware and software that are part of an organization’s computer systems in addition to the ways in which the systems are being used.
Responsibilities
- Accomplish information systems and organization mission by effectively capturing business requirements, map processes, and develop functional specifications in support of business priorities
- Analyze the organizations work to identify the ways in which it best can be served by a computer system and develop new systems or work to update or improve current systems (including analyzing the costs and benefits of purchasing new hardware – versus building it - and software and the time necessary to train staff on how to use it).
- Collaborate cross functionally with both business and technical teams
- Research and evaluate modern technologies
- Identify the organizational needs of IT Enterprise systems (SaaS, PaaS)
- Identify problems and opportunities adding new functionality to systems
- Identify various possibilities of the 3Ps (People, Process, Products / Platforms)
- Create and facilitate presentations
- Analyze costs and benefits
- Oversee installations and test systems
- Train users and assist in writing/creating training materials, including TXDD and technical instruction manuals
- Implement complex IT solutions by defining and analyzing system problems, designing, and validating standards and solutions, while documenting the process
- Defines application problems by conferring with key stakeholders, evaluating procedures and processes.
- Effectively capture business requirements, map processes, and develop functional specifications in support of business priorities.
- Ensure the operation of complex IT solutions by training personnel and providing support
- Coordinate testing and process changes through the organization as needed
- Provide second-level technical support for end users, opening, updating, and closing help desk tickets
- Support training and KT to Functional admins during Rollout (write instruction manuals)
- Train/do KT to Technical SME / Technical admins , Rollout , so that support will be able to use the system.
- Initiate ways to add functionality to existing platforms and systems
- Interaction (cross functionally) with the entire organization
- Gather technical requirements
- EA Data and System mapping
- Test the new platform and systems to make sure they work the way they are supposed to (UAT)
- Customize standard software
- Work with the ePMO to successfully complete initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Master’s of Business Administration is a plus
- 12+ years as a Technical System Analyst or Computer System Analyst
- 7+ years’ experience implementing enterprise platforms (e.g., ERPs, WO, PMO, CRMs, Sales)
- 5+ years working on large transformational initiatives involving product, engineering, strategy, and marketing
- 5+ years in any analytical tool (Apache Storm, SAS, Tableau, Splunk, MS BI, SAP BO, COGNOS)
- 3+ years of experience with database design or IT architecture design, operating systems, telecom, service hosting, mainframe, or legacy systems
- ITIL certifications required or able to achieve in the first 6 months
- CITP, SEMC Certifications
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Excel pivot tables, Tableau, SSIS
- Solid understanding of data analysis and data visualizations (database skills, operating skills)
- Ability to establish and maintain a prominent level of both internal and external customer trust and confidence especially with stakeholders
- Experience with data conversion mapping source to target, and working with various data sources (e.g., flat files, databases)
- Strong experience with logical modeling concepts (both relational and dimensional), data warehousing, and standard query and reporting tools such as SQL query, SSRS
- Strong experience using Miro, Mural, or any other Design Thinking tool.
- Experience in documentation such as MS Word, Excel, Visio, Google suite
- Experience in Delphi, PowerBuilder, JCL, Internet/ Intranet Development
- Technical understanding of APIs (especially REST), webhooks
- Experience and thorough understanding of integrating platforms using workflow connectors and/or other 3rd-party tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Multidisciplinary technical skills in IT systems and platforms from a functional side
