The Procurement Analyst will be a vital member of the Pactiv Evergreen Transportation team, responsible for providing both strategic and tactical analysis of transportation data along with developing and executing Carrier routing guide strategy, RFP development and market based insights. This will require an individual who is a self-starter, knows the transportation industry, thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves data and has a “Can Do” mentality. Under the leadership of the Routing Guide Manager, the Procurement Analyst will also provide data driven insights, fiscal responsibility, build and maintain KPIs/Scorecards, and support Carrier Managers in their daily activities. Responsibilities:
Here’s what you’ll do…
- Create and monitor routing guides for transportation planners to execute against.
- Using your transportation knowledge and market information, assist in developing strategies to drive down cost and/or improve service by adjusting the available levers (capacity, allocation, Dynamic Pricing) in TMS to create a desired outcome.
- Develop analysis to support pricing negotiations, carrier recommendations and capacity requirements.
- Monitor carrier performance and service KPIs to make impactful routing guide updates.
- Conduct audit activity to ensure accurate pricing and capacities are uploaded into the TMS rate system
- Provide analytical support and interpretation for various procurement projects.
- Help in the development and execution of RFPs and carrier bid events, along with providing analysis on carrier allocation, awards and bid savings, as needed.
- Collect, analyze and manage quantitative data from various sources (TMS, Tableau, SAP) to create a variety of transportation and logistics related analysis, including ad hoc reports and performance metrics.
- Utilize internal and external benchmarking information to proactively communicate significant impacts or trends.
- Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
Here’s what you’ll need…
- BA/BS in logistics or related field with 5+ year’s previous business experience.
- Must have at least 2-3 years demonstrated analytical skills specifically in pricing/carrier management/procurement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and problem-solving skills; strict attention to detail; ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Proficient in the standard MS Office Suite with high level abilities in database and data management applications, such as Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
- Previous experience with Blue Yonder (previously known as JDA),TMS and Bidding software preferred.
- Experience coding Microsoft SQL and working on some modeling tools a plus.
