Summer Camp Group Coordinators- $19 per hour

Amazing opportunity for high school and college students, aspiring or current teachers, or anyone who loves working with kids! Located in the beautiful village of Stowe, Vermont, Stowe Rec Summer Camp offers children the quintessential day camp experience. Our summer camp serves kids in K-9th grade. Each group of campers is led by 2-3 counselors. Stowe Parks & Recreation is currently seeking energetic, team oriented, and motivated individuals who have experience working with children or in a recreational field.​

The Group Coordinators will work in a specific age group with our counselors. This is a seasonal employee, the scope of the work includes planning and conducting program activities as well as overseeing the emotional wellbeing of camp participants. The right candidate will work to ensure all campers have the opportunity to participant inclusively in our program.

Essential functions include:

• Assist Directors will program planning and preparing group activity schedules.
• Oversee daily program activities and counselors to include supervision of staff- as well as adherence to rules and regulations for the daily conduct of Camp.
• In collaboration with the Camp Directors and Program Director, the Group Coordinator position develops and delivers strategies to address the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of campers to ensure a positive and rewarding camp experience for all.
• Assist counselors with behavior management and inclusive strategies as needed during activities.
• Proactively share behavior management techniques with counselors based on rosters and prior knowledge of specific camper behaviors.

Shifts are Monday-Friday and generally from 8am-4pm, approximately 8 hours per day. First Aid/CPR/AED and Lifeguard certifications are preferred, though training may be provided. Season is from June 2023- August 2023. Join us for a delightful and fulfilling summer season!
