Surgery Scheduler Job at Ventura Orthopedics Medical Group
Our busy orthopedic clinic is recruiting for an experienced Surgery Scheduler.
Overall Responsibility
Schedule patients for surgery/manage surgery schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Schedule surgeries and pre-operative appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Contact insurance to obtain precertification
- Obtain surgery authorization for industrial patients
- Mail patient information
- Locate and pull charts for surgery patients
- Complete surgery scheduling forms for various facilities and hospitals
The ideal candidate would posses good communication skills, good organizational skills, and a strong sense of customer/patient service.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and twelve to eighteen months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
