Position Overview:

Siemens Gamesa is looking for a Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our Service Sales Group in North America. This position will be focused on commercialization and Aftermarket sales support for our Special Projects / Customer Focus Projects product line. This includes overhauls, repowering, and other larger more complex wind turbine replacement scopes. The Technical Sales Support Specialist will be measured on sales growth, market penetration, profitability, and the success of various process improvement initiatives.

This role requires a self-sufficient candidate with an in-depth understanding of wind turbine technology, customer service and renewable energy market trends. The Special Projects product line is newer to Siemens Gamesa. Therefore, the ideal candidate will exhibit a strong curiosity and creative spirit into exploring and flushing out new and legacy Aftermarket Sales revenue opportunities. This entrepreneurial sales role will allow you to work with some of the best sales professionals in the renewables industry.

Job Description:

Collaborate with a multi-functional team and internal business partners on specification review, product scope selection, commercial strategy, cost/price development, and proposal generation.

Prioritize requests for quotes from sales in order to meet customer and/or market requirements.

Technical Specialist will have a special focus on larger dollar opportunities that fall under the Advanced Maintenance category including thermal events, turbine rebuilds, and site overhauls.

Develop and participate in the organization’s Multi-brand strategy to address partial repowers and overhauls for non-SGRE turbines.

Support the sales process from request for quotes, cost modeling, proposal generation, and bid approval.

Partner with the manager in cost-price reviews with commercial finance and sales as required.

Align with Service Sales Account Managers, Supply Chain, EHS, Engineering and other Aftermarket Product Lines, regionally and globally, to support Advanced Maintenance offerings and share best practices.

Utilize Salesforce as required for the transparent tracking of leads and opportunities throughout the entire Advanced Maintenance Sales Cycle.

Prepare comprehensive proposals/offer letters for distribution by Service Sales Account Managers. This includes the inclusion or modification of language regarding scope of supply or services, technical specifications, commercial considerations, and selling policy (terms & conditions).

Help drive proactive sales through the creation of Salesforce opportunities for leads, the generation of Customer Information Letters, and follow-up with sales on progress and/or customer feedback.

Create, Provide, and give technical presentations regarding Advanced Maintenance products and services to customers as directed by Account Managers.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
Required Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience
-
Overall responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of proposal preparation tools such as proposal templates, customer information letters, and cost calculations.

5 plus years of relevant experience
-
BS in business or engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Solid understanding of the Federal tax regulation guidelines around Production and Investment Tax Credits.

Strong business acumen and technical aptitude required.

Proven ability to think outside the box and develop creative value-added propositions for customers. Must have a positive “solutions-focused” approach to problem solving.

Team-player mind set and with strong interpersonal communication & collaboration skills

Demonstrated high ability to interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders in order to gather all relevant materials for cost calculation execution and proposal issuance.

Advanced time management, organizational, and attention to detail skills a must.

Very strong proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
