SUMMARY:

The Technology Specialist I will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to computer users in a medical environment where confidentiality is extremely important. Environment will be administration of a local and wide area network and system users, including troubleshooting difficult user software or hardware problems and repairing equipment. Frequently functions in a "help desk" capacity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate degree in electronics or computer technology and repair is required, Bachelor degree and IT experience in medical environment is preferred.

· Knowledge of data processing techniques or equivalent combination of training and experience.

· Two (2) or more years experience in supporting computer networks and end users, server systems, repairing computer equipment, etc.

· Excellent personal computer skills in a Windows operating systems and server environment, including Microsoft Office, networking devices, and general office support applications.

· Ability to troubleshoot and repair/resolve problems with hardware and software.

· Capable of communicating complex technical issues with systems users.

· Ability to organize work to meet deadlines and user demands.

· Exceptional personal computing skills in a variety of operating environments.

• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• Must be insurable under the Mille Lacs Band Drivers Insurance policy.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responds to and resolves user problems.
• Installs equipment and software.
• Assists in product evaluations and makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases.
• Makes repairs to computer hardware or makes recommendations to use outside repair service.
• Provides server maintenance and restore function from data back-up.
• Troubleshoots and corrects server problems.
• Informs users in system of network or software capabilities and functions.
• Attends required meetings and participates in various seminars and training classes to maintain or update needed skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is almost exclusively indoors in a controlled climate area.
• Work will include support of remote clinic sites within a 100-mile radius.

· Hours are typically 8-5, but possibly with some extra hours. May involve some evening or weekend working and occasionally an 'on call' system covering emergency situations.

· Will involve working with many different people who are somewhat distressed in some way.

· Local travel is required; travel outside the state is very limited.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,600.00 - $47,400.00 per year
