Vermont Based French Translator Job at Essex Westford School District
The Essex Westford School District is seeking a French interpreter/translator who is available during school hours to provide spoken translation during parent-teacher conferences and written translation of school documents (e.g., grade reports, letters, etc.). In order to effectively support our French-speaking families, the ideal candidate can provide English-to-French and French-to-English translation.
Candidates must live within driving distance of our school district and be able to attend school-based meetings. The position pays $50.00/hour for oral translation for up to one hour/meeting, and $50/page for written translation (or $25/page if previously translated with minor edits). Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

Good oral and/or written translation/interpretation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills An understanding of the diverse cultures of the individuals being served Experience providing translation services in a professional setting is preferred
