The Production Coordinator provides leadership for production technical, and equipment needs of Ministry areas, as assigned. He/She leads, builds relationships, schedules, and trains the production volunteers who support the assigned Ministry area(s).
The Production Coordinator – Audio provides live audio engineering for worship bands and other live production support to meet the needs of Hope Campus’s Ministry area(s), as assigned. Live production support includes audio, video, lighting, and staging. Ministry needs may include regular worship services, programs and classes, special events, seminars and conferences; at Waukee campus.
The Production Coordinator – Video/Studio is responsible for producing video recordings of live events and studio projects; at Waukee campus. Video producing includes managing the shoot, editing the video content, and posting the final video.
General Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a good relationship and open communication with the Ministry partners(s).
- Coach, care for and provide oversight of the Production volunteers, in coordination with other Production Team members.
- Participate as a team member of the Production Department in specific areas of strength and skill (e.g. live audio production, video production, equipment maintenance, set changeovers, lighting, etc.)
- Participate in weekly worship services and primary events.
- Keep up to date on the use of essential production equipment and technology.
- Extra duties as assigned to support Hope’s ministries and mission.
Production Coordinator - Audio general responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage production support for assigned Ministry area(s), in coordination with supervisor and leader(s) of assigned Ministry area(s)
- Provide technical production support for classes, special events, weddings, funerals, conferences, concerts, outside events, etc., as assigned.
- Build, equip and empower applicable volunteer leaders to live out the Production Department purpose
- Assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Track inventory and make purchase recommendations.
- Provide a variety of support tasks for the Production Department including, but not limited to, event preparation, event stage setting, event coordination and light maintenance duties.
Production Coordinator – Video/Studio general responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with ministry partners to coordinate and produce video shoots for live events and studio projects.
- Manage the video shoots, including cameras, lighting, audio.
- Work with ministry partners on final edit to produce a final video that meets their needs and expectations.
Specific Responsibilities
- Know schedule of upcoming programming, events, and rehearsals for assigned Ministry area(s). Make sure events are on the Production calendar.
- Prepare for upcoming programming and events. For example, discusses needs with Ministry leaders before event; reviews Planning Center Online (PCO) for elements, content, equipment needs; updates PCO; schedules volunteers/staff, etc.
- Make sure assets are available, tested, and ready to use. For example, graphics, video clips, lyrics, motion- backs, audio playlists, etc.
- Schedule volunteers and make sure all roles are filled before the event. Train and continue to develop volunteers, coach them on using equipment, following cues, working with Ministry partners, having a positive attitude, etc.
Production Coordinator - Audio specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create stage plot for band and vocalists.
- Prepare, set-up and test all production equipment required for rehearsals, programming, and events.
- Coordinate wireless microphones and IEM for speakers, vocalists, and bands.
- Set-up, patch stage and mix for rehearsals and events.
- Record and distribute rehearsal recordings to band members.
- Build and maintain good relationships with Worship Team members.
- Move, rig and set-up equipment for new set designs or stage layouts.
- Maintain equipment, perform regular cleaning and preventative maintenance of production equipment and venues. Coordinate repairs of production systems as needed.
Production Coordinator - Video specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set up cameras, lighting, and audio for video shoot.
- Manage and direct the video shoot.
- Edit multiple video shots into a final video; trim and combine live recordings into a final video.
- Edit audio for smooth transitions and flow.
- Post or distribute final video.

Skills, Education and Experience Required
- Proficient with Mac and Windows operating systems.
- Proficient with MS Office Professional software.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize and boundary ministry with personal and family life.
- Ability to supervise, inspire and equip both staff and volunteers in a wide variety of ministry areas.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective devices.
- Work involves normal activity of walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
- Must also be able to climb ladders and work at heights of 40’ or more on catwalks or work platforms.
Production Coordinator - Audio Requirements:
- General working knowledge of all technical disciplines (audio, lighting, video, and staging).
- Experience mixing Front of House and Monitor audio for bands in a live environment.
- Familiar operating large format digital mixing consoles.
- Familiarity with wireless microphone coordination for large-scale facilities using multiple wireless microphone and IEM systems simultaneously.
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and carry out detailed procedures with multiple variables.
- Ability to read and follow schematic drawings for the purposes of system integrations and troubleshooting.
Production Coordinator - Audio Desired Skills:
- Minimum 2-year technical degree.
- Basic knowledge of Networking, HTML and JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of A/V Network Control Systems design and installation.
- CAD experience, preferably AutoCAD or SketchUp.
- Strong organizational skills for administration and leadership of team-based ministry.
- Leadership experience.
Production Coordinator - Video Requirements:
- 2 years of Production/Communication Experience/School
- Proficient in Mac operating systems and experience with non-linear editors
Production Coordinator - Video Desired Skills:
- Navigating FTP sites and XML Editing.
- Final Cut Studio or similar Non-Linear Editor
- Experience with Pro Tools or similar Non-Linear Audio Editor
Position Details
Hours:
- Full time, salary. 40 hours at Waukee campus
- Requires evenings, weekends and holidays
Pay:
- Commensurate with position and experience, based upon National Wage Survey(s) of Comparative Churches
