Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for a program at the United States Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The pay is $31.84 per hour.

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

• • Work with verbal information, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical publications, instruction bulletins and applicable National, State and municipal specifications, codes and ordinances.
  • Sample and analyze water and treat, as required.
  • Perform minor insulation with prefabricated mineral insulating materials, bindings, plastic, cement, etc., as required.
  • Inspect, maintain or repair special tools, jigs, fittings and instruments assigned.
  • May operate gas welding equipment to perform cutting, burning and soldering, as necessary, to accomplish work assignment.
  • Add chemicals, such as ammonia or chlorine, to disinfect water or other liquids
  • Inspect equipment on a regular basis
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges
  • Collect and test water and sewage samples
  • Record meter and gauge readings and operational data
  • Operate equipment to purify and clarify water or to process or dispose of sewage
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas
  • Maintain logs, records, charts, etc., as required.

  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problem and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
  • Perform or assist with any departmental operations, under direction, to maintain work flow.
  • Maintain security clearance, area permit(s), licenses, certifications, etc. required for performance of assigned tasks.
  • Performs other related and/or associated duties as required.
  • This classification may include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.

  • Lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects exceeding 30 pounds
  • Walk, stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and bend/twist body for extended periods of time

  • May be required to work a flexible work schedule and on alternating work days to meet mission and customer requirements.
