Description

The Director of Operations and Performance reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH), adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Director will engage in activities to enable the provision of high quality, patient and family centered care at NMH. Under the direction of the Chief Nurse Executive and in collaboration with the directors of patient care, the Director of Operations and Performance will ensure that innovative and coordinated strategies for the delivery of patient care will be implemented across the campus.

This role will be responsible the development of effective and efficient processes that maximize the value of care delivery. In partnership with the directors of patient care, the Director of Operations and Performance is accountable for the advancement of nursing‘s strategic plan, quality improvement, and financial performance in the division of patient care as delegated by the Chief Nurse Executive.

Responsibilities:

  • The Director is responsible for leading teams to outcomes which support the advancement of Northwestern Medicine’s and nursing‘s strategic plan, quality improvement, and financial performance in the Division of Patient Care
  • Directs the strategies that have significant impact on the division’s quality and financial operations
  • Accountable for the coordination and implementation of unified and innovative processes of care delivery throughout NMH nursing
  • Responsible for the attainment of goals surrounding quality outcomes.
  • Accountable for business operations and responsible for meeting the financial and budget targets in the division of patient care
  • Directs systems and processes to ensure the accomplishment of goals and expectations throughout patient care
  • Leads the division of patient care in the concepts and applications of high reliability to improve patient outcomes and experiences
  • Responsible for the diffusion of quality improvement concepts, tools, and application across all nursing areas
  • Sponsor for NMH DMAIC projects related to process and financial improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree
  • Expert in process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven skills in leadership, planning and quality
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of healthcare professionals in a matrix environment
