The Role at a Glance
The Sr. Vice President, Strategic Planning provides executive strategy and planning for Workplace Solutions, in coordination with business leaders and key Senior Management Committee leaders. You will also lead horizontal initiatives across the business, develop, implement, and execute strategic business plans which support Workplace Solutions growth and profitability initiatives and deliver meaningful business results.
What you'll be doing
  • Drives annual strategy planning cycle, in partnership with the President of Workplace Solutions, Chief Strategy Officer and Office of the CEO
  • Develops board-level strategy material
  • Develops overall strategic vision for the Workplace Solutions
  • Establishes the Strategy Office organizational goals, objectives, and operating procedures
  • Ensures Workplace Solutions Strategy Office functional areas meet all objectives pertaining to compliance, regulations, productivity, customer service, budget, and project management
  • Ensures Workplace Solutions Strategy Office’s operational plans align with division and LFG's overall business plans, specific strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Drives priority initiatives which include but not limited to select strategic initiatives that require cross-functionally collaboration
  • Manages select sponsored strategic consulting engagements
  • Ensures effective implementation, integration, and execution of Workplace Solutions Strategy Office’s strategic and tactical plans
  • Ensures the identification and interpretation of significant trends by effectively understanding the customer data and uses this data to drive a united platform of customer needs and translate into actionable strategic initiatives
  • Ensures the development and implementation of strategies in the support of short and long-term strategic and financial objectives of the business
  • Oversees the development of metrics to monitor progress towards achievement of stated goals; ensures accurate and comprehensive evaluation of strategy progress and benefit realization.
  • Advises, collaborates and guides the senior executive management on strategic planning opportunities and interpreting how they relate to and support the enterprise’s and Workplace Solutions’ strategic objectives
  • Develops strategic programs & initiatives with key leaders, works with leaders on delivering messages, recommendations for recognition, and driving culture change
  • Partners with executive management and key business stakeholders to identify, consolidate, and integrate the customer and business needs, market trends, and customer insights to develop strategic actionable initiatives that benefit Workplace Solutions
  • Develops, directs, and maintains an effective organization including: efficient work flow patterns; established performance standards; delineation of duties; suitable staffing levels; appropriate supervision & systems for timely communication of information
  • Collaborates with senior leaders within Workplace Solutions and across LFG to research, develop & execute innovative short & long-term business strategies
  • Forges strategic partnerships to achieve Business Unit objectives in supporting the enterprise and collaborates with peers and leadership across the Workplace Solutions and external organizations to negotiate for resources needed to accomplish objectives
  • Ensures the proactive identification of risks/issues/conflicts that may impede strategic initiatives; engages cross-functional leadership to evaluate issues and implement approaches to optimize strategic achievement
  • Champions the investment of innovative ideas and plans brought forth by others offering a diversity of thought, perspective and solutions that drive customer and shareholder value and balancing risk with investments in leading edge innovation
  • Ensures the incorporation of diversity of thought into problem solving and decision-making to come up with creative and comprehensive solutions that improve results and outcomes
  • Build and manage a portfolio of adjacent and transformational innovations that can deliver profitable growth
  • Monitor marketplace innovations and trends, and assess implications
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 15+ years of progressively more responsible experience within the financial services/insurance industries with an emphasis on participant experience
  • 5+ years of senior management, senior level strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholder experience; or 19+ years of equivalent progressively more responsible work experience within the financial services/insurance industries with an emphasis on participant experience and 5+ years of senior management, senior level strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholder experience.

Level: CLG

Pay Range: $166,301 - $300,200

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
