JOB SUMMARY


As a Sr. Director, Strategy & Analytics, you will be responsible for defining and executing business strategies and insights for a Fortune 5 global tech client. In this role, you will be responsible for the vision and the management of a growing team of data & analytics professionals who mine relevant data for insights and craft recommendations on strategy, business analytics, consumer research, operational SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and data management.

Additionally, this position is responsible for establishing and advancing the methods, processes, and standards of analytics and client service that fuel the innovation that is driving E15 forward. As the team leader, the expectation is also that you professionally develop the members of the organization to be the future leaders for E15 and Compass. The position is accountable to the SVP, Global Strategy Operations for the account and the CEO of E15 Group.

Location: Washington DC, Los Angeles CA, or Seattle WA with up to 25% travel.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead a dedicated strategy and analytics team for a Fortune 5 global client
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships with client and operational executives and department heads that foster effective cross-functional collaboration and alignment Set the strategy for analytics and empower your team to execute your vision every day
  • Promote the use of data and analytics to address business issues, including scoping projects, storytelling to stakeholder groups, brainstorming possible data-driven solutions, and incorporating analytical thinking into general business discussions
  • Analyze and mine business data to identify patterns and correlations among several data points using various statistical techniques, and guide your team to do the same
  • Oversee the development of ad hoc analyses for specific questions of interest to clients and Compass executives
  • Develop KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and benchmarking methods to assess the effectiveness and ROI (Return on Investment) of strategic initiatives
  • Prioritize projects and accounts based on the client and E15 priorities, existing and future resourcing constraints, and timelines
  • Build internal and external business relationships vital to the success of projects
  • Proactively communicate project details across all levels and relevant departments throughout the organization in a clear and concise manner
  • Provide leadership, support, and professional development to team members in both formal and informal settings
  • Set the vision for personal and professional standards of behavior, analysis, and deliverables

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THIS ROLE

  • A Master’s degree in business administration, strategy, analytics, finance, economics, or a related field
  • At least seven years of experience in a quantitative, analytical, or client-facing business role
  • Big 4, CPG, Fortune 100 or advisory consulting experience a plus
  • Food and/or Retail knowledge/experience a plus
  • Professional experience using the following is strongly desired
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Statistical analysis (R strongly preferred)
  • Data visualization (Tableau or PowerBI strongly preferred)
  • Exceptional business writing skills, including white papers, business narratives, and slide decks
  • Advanced expertise with Excel; experience with financial or stat modelling strongly preferred
  • Experience using data visualization tools and PowerPoint/Word to persuasively communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable presenting in front of executives
  • Ability to develop and own senior stakeholder relationships
  • Strong ability to coach, develop, and lead other analytics professionals
  • A collaborative and curious attitude
  • A strong work ethic with a keen sense of urgency to support clients, colleagues, or stakeholders
