Medical Assistant
Vanguard Medical Group is actively seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Telehealth team and quality reporting. This role involves scheduling patients for virtual appointments, creating patient charts, taking histories, and booking through the EMR system, as well as connecting with patients on gaps in care. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and growing team within Vanguard.
The ideal candidate has experience with telehealth, has 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience, and is very tech-savvy. This individual must have strong data analysis skills, as they will be responsible for gathering and organizing patient data. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate telehealth services and remotely register patients, and transition the patients to the corresponding providers
- Book same-day telehealth appointments with Vanguard providers utilizing EMR and Updox
- Facilitate telehealth consultations by creating patient charts, collecting patient medical histories, and reason for visit
- Follows?up on missed appointments and contact patients per order of clinicians
- Assist Quality Data team by collecting patient data from charts and running reports
- Parsing and labelling PDFs and loading them to the EHR
- Obtaining and processing medical records must be tracked in excel sheets
- Interacting with Provider offices to obtain medical record documentation
- Monitoring vendors reports on medical record review completion and results rates
- Calling patients to interview them about whether they accessed the needed care
- Comply with HIPAA standards
