PURPOSE OF POSITION:*
A Volunteer Coordinator at Catholic Charities:
- Creates and disseminates programming policies and procedures.
- Completes necessary administrative duties (paperwork, etc.) timely and accurately.
- Supports, promotes, and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values, and Code of Ethics.
- Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.
- Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Volunteer Management
- Oversees all operations of Volunteer Coordination, up to, but not limited to recruiting, screening, interviewing, placing, and onboarding volunteers in ongoing and as needed services to include meal preparation, administrative/office assistance, shelter maintenance, fundraising, special projects, and other tasks, as necessary.
- Manages comprehensive orientation process for new volunteers.
- Maintains volunteer personnel information file (PIF) with completed programming paperwork, i.e., acknowledgements, waivers, etc.
- Develops and manages volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service.
- Utilizes volunteer management system – Volunteer Hub - to create online volunteer profiles, track service hours, and submits monthly reports.
- Collaborates with marketing and public relations staff to publicize volunteer opportunities in social media, i.e., website, Facebook, etc.
- Creates and distributes various volunteer communications - monthly newsletter “The Messenger.”
- Develops and administers annual volunteer satisfaction survey.
- Identifies and attends community outreach opportunities to recruit qualified volunteers.
- Provides ongoing support to volunteers; resolves grievances and promotes cooperation.
- Overseas GCC weekly/monthly events calendar including the scheduling of supporting agencies.
- Assists Regional Director in creating relationships with faith-based community, business partners, academic institutions, and service clubs to promote volunteerism and donor sponsorships.
- Chairs annual volunteer appreciation program/event.
Donation Center Management
- In coordination with the Operations Manager, acts as the agency point of contact for oversight of non-monetary gift-in-kind (GIK) donation system and processes.
- Coordinates with data specialist to assure recording of gift-in-kind donations for auditing and fundraising purposes and prepares thank you responses for the donors.
- In coordination with the Operations Manager may support Donation Center Store and Warehouse systems.
- Researches and cultivates relationships with individuals and corporate donors and community agencies for the solicitation of gift-in-kind donations.
- May facilitates logistics related to delivery of excess donations to other Catholic Charities missions or partnering agencies.
Fundraising Support
- May assists with the annual Guadalupe Non-Event fundraising event, including, but not limited to collaborating and marketing the Non-Event to volunteers, creating sponsorship opportunities, and data base of sponsors and donors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Volunteers, interns, and community service participants
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, database/electronic record keeping systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- High level of community resources awareness.
- Professional and effective conflict-resolution skills.
- Organized, detailed and thorough in record-keeping and documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with agency staff, community partners and with a diverse client base.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university in a related field; and one to two years related Human Services/Marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS*
Valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and proof of insurance required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: Starting at $17/hour with increases commensurate with experience & education.

Schedule:* This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
